Maximize Your Dental Insurance

As another year comes to a close, it’s time to make sure that you schedule any dental treatment that needs to be completed or started before the year-end. It is important to take care of your oral hygiene needs. Your oral hygiene can affect so many other areas of your body and this is why it is so important to take care of any necessary dental work and keep up with regular dental check-ups. Always strive to maintain excellent oral hygiene and protect your body! If you have not yet seen the dentist this year or perhaps in a few years, now is the time!

The schedules are filling up quickly, so call now to get your spot! It is not uncommon for our patients to wait until the year-end to begin their dental work. They have saved their dental insurance benefits until this time to ensure they didn’t have an emergency pop up during the year or some have just simply put it off. (Check out this cool “Dental Benefits 102” infographic from Delta Dental!) If you are one of these people, do not hesitate to contact us to schedule a time to begin your dental treatment prior to the year end!

If you utilize dental benefits, there are many reasons to utilize your benefits before the year-end … Here are the top three reasons:

  1. Yearly Maximum

The yearly maximum is the most money that your dental insurance plan will pay for your dental work within one full year. This amount varies by insurance company, but the average is around $1,000 per year, per person. This amount renews each year, and in most cases any funds not utilized during the year are lost! We recommend if you have any needed dental treatment that you utilize your dental insurance to it’s full capacity to ensure you are receiving the benefits you have paid for!

  1. Deductible

The deductible is the amount of money that your insurance requires you to pay your dentist before your insurance company will pay for certain services. This fee varies from one dental insurance plan to another and could be higher if you choose a dentist out-of-network. However, the average deductible for dental insurance plans is usually around $50 per year. Your deductible also starts again when your plan rolls over.

  1. Premiums

Most of the time you have paid a premium to carry dental benefits. You have paid to have dental insurance, so you should utilize the benefits you have paid for!

These three reasons, and many more are why we encourage our patients to utilize their dental benefits each year!
